About Me
Hello and welcome to That Hungry Nurse! My name is Jenny and I am a Registered Nurse, a foodie, and a mom who loves to write.
After getting my Bachelors Degree in Community Health from the University of Maryland College Park (go Terps), I went on to get my Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from the University of San Diego. Since then, I have worked in both clinical and administrative roles in a variety of different settings. My RN experience spans the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), the Pre/Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), Transplant Coordination, and Internal Medicine. I am also a Certified Critical Care Nurse (CCRN) and hold BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
Though this site originally started as a way for me to share recipes and write food content, That Hungry Nurse has evolved into a place for nursing education and support, the occasional food recipe, and a way to decompress after a long day of motherhood. As it turns out, you can be hungry for more than just food!
In 2025, I decided to turn my passion for this blog into a business. I provide writing services covering a wide variety of healthcare topics. I have knowledge of SEO, keyword research, and website optimization. Please contact me and we can work together to create your dream content!

In my free time, you can find me relaxing (as much as parent can) with my husband, chasing my two small children around, or enjoying all of the outdoor beauty that California has to offer.
Thank you so much for visiting, and please feel free to use the Contact page to send me a message. I am always open to suggestions.
**Disclaimer: While I am a medical provider, I am not a physician. Most importantly, I am not YOUR physician. Please do not take medical advice from this site, and always do the research and speak to your providers yourself. I will always list my sources of information, and always do diligent research before posting on topics I am not familiar with. I am constantly learning and growing, as I hope we all are! Several of my posts also contain affiliate links, meaning I may receive a small commission if you order from them. I will never, ever promote products I haven’t used, don’t support, and don’t genuinely want you to purchase!**
